Truck Mechanic in transport company
Job description:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Truck Mechanic to join our team.
As a Truck Mechanic, your primary responsibility is to inspect, diagnose, repair, and maintain trucks and other heavy vehicles to ensure they are in safe and optimal operating condition.
You will play a crucial role in keeping the fleet of trucks running smoothly and efficiently to support the transportation operations of the transport company.
Responsibilities:
- Perform routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, tire rotations, and brake inspections to keep trucks in good working condition.
- Diagnose mechanical issues and electrical problems in trucks using diagnostic tools and equipment.
- Repair or replace faulty parts, components, or systems in trucks, including engines, transmissions, brakes, and steering mechanisms.
- Conduct thorough inspections of trucks to identify any potential issues or safety concerns.
- Follow maintenance schedules and service guidelines to ensure compliance with regulations and manufacturer specifications.
- Keep accurate records of maintenance and repair work performed on each truck.
- Collaborate with other mechanics and team members to troubleshoot complex problems and find effective solutions.
- Adhere to safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment for yourself and others.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Completion of a vocational or technical training program in diesel mechanics or a related field is preferred.
- Proven experience as a Truck Mechanic or in a similar role (2-5 years), demonstrating proficiency in diagnosing and repairing trucks.
- Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, and other truck components.
- Ability to use diagnostic tools and equipment to identify and resolve mechanical issues.
- Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Physical strength and stamina to handle the physical demands of the job, including lifting heavy parts and working in tight spaces.
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record may be required for certain positions.
